Gold mining in Sumpter, Oregon!
We have a variety of gold mining options here at the mining camp! But before you choose a mining package for your gold mining adventure, there are a few things you should first consider in order to make your mining experience in Sumpter a truly golden one!

Once you know the answer to these questions, then you can browse through our list of packages and choose which one is right for you!
Greenhorn Package
- $10.00 Per Hour
This is our basic gold panning package! We'll set you up with a gold pan and some great instruction in the art of gold panning and assign you to one of our large gold panning troughs where you can practice your skills and take home some of that Sumpter gold dust!
All Day Gold Panning Package
Only $40! Open to Closing Unlimited -
This is our best gold panning package! We'll provide you with a complete gold panning kit which includes a gold pan, instructions, a snuffer bottle, a bag of material salted with gold and an empty vial to put your gold in! Then enjoy yourself at our gold panning trough as long as you need! When you're finished gold panning, we'll even help you bag up your material so you can take it home with you!
Greenhorn Highbanker Package
- $35.00 Per Hour -
This is our basic gold mining package! We'll set you up with all the equipment you need, basic gold mining instruction and tips for using a highbanker and then we'll assign you to your own gold mining station.
Deluxe Highbanker Package
- $250.00 Open to Closing - Unlimited -
This is our basic gold mining package! We'll set you up with all the equipment you need, basic gold mining instruction and tips for using a highbanker and then we'll assign you to your own gold mining station.
Family Mining Package
- $400.00 5 Hour Maximum -
Got a family with gold fever? This is our best value! Your family will have unlimited gold mining at the camp for 5 hours including use of gold pans, 2 highbanker mining stations and use of your own metal detector on our grounds. We'll set your family up with all the equipment they need, basic gold mining and gold panning instruction and tips.
Weekender Mining Package
- $800.00 18 Hour Maximum -
Heading to Sumpter for the weekend? Got the gold mining bug? This package is designed for that serious prospector! You will have unlimited gold mining at the camp for 18 hours including use of a gold pan, 1 highbanker mining station and use of your own metal detector on our grounds and.....go home with a souvenir gold pan!
